Infinite Road LLC
Privacy Policy
Effective: July 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Infinite Road LLC ("we," "us") handles information in the Infinite Road mobile app (the "App") and on our website at infinite-road.app (the "Site"). We built both to collect as little as possible.
The Short Version
- Using the App involves signing in with Apple or Google. We store the email address and name your sign-in provider shares, to run your account — and nothing else about your identity. (With Sign in with Apple you can hide your real email; the relay address works fine.)
- Your location stays on your device to figure out what you're driving past. We do not store your location or your trip history on our servers.
- We collect non-identifying diagnostics and usage counts to keep the App working and improve it. They are not linked to your account.
- We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles.
What We Collect
Your Account
You sign in to the App with Sign in with Apple or Google. We store the account identifier, email address, and name your provider shares with us, which sign-in method you used, and your subscription status. We use this to operate your account, apply your subscription, and follow up if you send us feedback. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we store the relay address Apple creates — we never see your real one. We do not use your account information for marketing and we do not sell it.
Device Identifier
The App generates a random device ID that is stored in your device's secure storage and can persist across reinstalls. It lets us group diagnostics, limit abuse, and count free-trial usage per device (we keep a server-side count of how many free trips a device has used). It is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and our usage analytics keyed to it are not linked to your account.
Location
With your permission, the App uses your device location (including in the background, so it can keep narrating with the screen off) to determine the places you're passing. Your location is processed on your device and is used to look up nearby points of interest and background information (see "Service Providers" below). We do not store your location, route, or trip history on our servers. Any trip history shown in the App is stored locally on your device and stays there.
Feedback You Send
If you submit feedback in the App, we receive the text you write, any screenshot you choose to attach, and basic technical context (the App version, your iOS version, and the device ID). If you're signed in, the feedback is linked to your account so we can follow up with you about it. We use feedback only to understand and fix issues.
Diagnostics and Crash Data
We use a third-party error-reporting tool to capture crashes and technical diagnostics, scrubbed of personal content, so we can find and fix bugs.
Usage Analytics
We collect small, non-identifying events — counts, durations, costs, and which features were used — to understand how the App performs and to manage operating cost. These events do not include your location, the text of any narration, the places you visited, or any personal content.
Subscription Status
If you subscribe or buy a day pass, the purchase is handled by Apple and our subscription-management provider. We receive your subscription status (for example: active, in a trial period, expired), which we store with your account — never your payment-card details.
Email You Give Us on the Site (Optional)
If you ask us on the Site to notify you when Infinite Road launches — or to be considered as a TestFlight beta tester — we store the email address you enter, whether you asked about TestFlight, and the date. We use it only to email you about the launch and, if you requested it, the beta; we do not sell it, share it for marketing, or use it for anything else. You can ask us to remove it at any time (see "Your Choices"). This is entirely optional and separate from using the App.
How We Use Information
- To provide the core feature: narrating the places around you as you drive.
- To keep the service reliable, secure, and within operating cost.
- To diagnose and fix problems, and to improve quality.
- To process and respond to feedback.
- If you opted in on the Site, to email you about the launch or the TestFlight beta.
Service Providers and Third Parties
To build a narration about where you are, the App sends location-derived queries (such as coordinates or place names — not your identity) to mapping and reference services, and sends text to an AI provider to compose the narration. We share data only as needed with:
- Apple — app distribution, Sign in with Apple, and (for subscriptions) payment processing.
- An authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) — to handle sign-in with Apple or Google securely.
- Our hosting and network providers (e.g., our application server and a content delivery / network provider) — to operate the service.
- Mapping and reference data providers (e.g., OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia/Wikimedia, Mapbox, Google Places) — to find what's around you and the facts to narrate.
- An AI / large-language-model provider — to compose narration text from the reference material.
- A text-to-speech service we operate — to turn narration text into audio.
- An error-reporting provider — for crash and diagnostic data.
- A subscription-management provider (RevenueCat) — to track subscription status.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.
Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists, and delete it when you delete your account. We keep feedback and diagnostics only as long as needed for the purposes above, and delete or anonymize them when no longer needed. Local data (such as trip history) lives on your device until you delete the App or clear it in the App.
Your Choices
- Location: you can grant, limit, or revoke location access in iOS Settings. The App still runs, but it cannot narrate your surroundings without location.
- Feedback: it's entirely optional — only sent when you tap send.
- Launch/beta email: optional — only stored if you enter it on the Site. Email us at support@infinite-road.app and we'll remove your address from the list.
- Account deletion: you can delete your account from the App's settings, or email us at support@infinite-road.app. Deleting your account removes the account record (email, name, subscription status) from our systems. It does not cancel an Apple subscription — manage that in your Apple ID settings.
- Other deletion: delete the App to remove local data, and email us at support@infinite-road.app to request deletion of feedback or diagnostics associated with your device ID (to the extent we can identify it).
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the "Effective" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice.
